New in the Theory of Heart Structure and Activity

Tuva State University, 2023

The article reveals the processes of the diastolic function of the heart. It was established that the pericardium is a capsule whose purpose is constancy of volume during deformation of the heart during systole of the atria, ventricles and respiratory vibrations of the diaphragm. The connection of heart activity with the muscles of the "diaphragm legs" regulating the height of the tendon center of the diaphragm is revealed. The force interaction of the heart and spine is established: myocardium ↔ epicardium ↔ pericardial cavity ↔ pericardium ↔ tendon center ↔ diaphragm legs ↔ spine (lumbar vertebrae L3-5).

Theory of the Pump Function of the Heart in the Content of the Discipline "Physiology and Theory of Sports"

Bulletin of KSPU named after V.P. Astafyev

The article proposes a method of enriching the content of the discipline "Physiology and Theory of Sports" with new scientific knowledge about the pump function of the heart based on the competence-based approach. The authors have established a previously unknown mechanism of the pump function of the heart, carried out by the fifth air chamber of the heart — the pericardial cavity. A model of the pump function of the heart based on the theory of piston pumps is presented.

Mechanism of Heart Filling with Venous Blood

Bulletin of KSPU named after V.P. Astafyev

The article presents the mechanism of heart filling with venous blood. The heart is a five-chamber system including the pericardial cavity. It was revealed that the pericardial cavity, being the functional pneumatic chamber of the heart, provides filling of the ventricles with blood during rest and in any extreme conditions even at a heart rate of 200 beats/min. The calculation of vacuum in the pericardial cavity based on the Boyle-Mariotte law is presented.

The article presents the author's classification of ECG changes in a healthy person at rest and during physical exertion (from 0 to 35 points). The classification is based on studies of more than 4,000 people, including 32 champions of the Olympic Games, World, European and USSR championships. The effectiveness of the classification in pedagogical and coaching practice for managing the training process is shown.

Design and Physiology of the Heart

New theory of heart activity

The monograph presents a new theory of heart activity. The 5-chamber structure of the heart, the third (coronary) circulation circle and the mechanism of blood filling of the heart cavities ("catapult") are described in detail. This is a fundamental study that laid the foundation for subsequent discoveries in cardiology and sports physiology.

New Theory of Phase Activity of the Heart

Journal "Advances in Modern Natural Science", No.11, 2011

The article presents a new theory of the phase activity of the five-chamber heart. The role of the pericardial cavity as the fifth functional chamber of the heart, creating a vacuum for blood suction, is substantiated. A scheme of the phases of the heart-pump operation is presented: atrial systole, ventricular systole, ventricular diastole. It is shown that the heart works on the principle of a membrane pump with a vacuum of up to -149 mm Hg.

ATP – "Energy-Lubricating" Component of Muscle Contraction

Bulletin of KSPU named after V.P. Astafyev

The article presents a critical analysis of the role of ATP in the mechanism of muscle contraction. The physicochemical processes occurring in the sarcomere during contraction and relaxation of muscles are considered. The hypothesis of the "energy-lubricating" function of ATP, explaining the high efficiency of muscle contraction and active relaxation, is substantiated. The need to revise the traditional "bridge" theory of muscle contraction is shown.

International Journal of Applied and Fundamental Research, No.10, 2010

The article presents the concept of biopedagogy as a rational combination of pedagogical influence and biological control to obtain maximum training effect without compromising the health of athletes. The 5-chamber structure of the heart and the role of the pericardium as the main mechanism ensuring effective filling of chambers with blood are substantiated. The author's classification of ECG changes during muscle load (from 0 to 35 points), created on the basis of studies of more than 20 thousand athletes, is presented.

Third Circulation Circle
📄 Scientific article 2009 ❤️ Heart Theory

Third Circulation Circle

Scientific Journal "Modern Problems of Science and Education", No.6, 2009

The article presents the rationale for the third (coronary) circulation circle as an independent system. It is shown that the circulation of the heart is active in all phases of its activity. The pressure gradient in the coronary arteries during systole is 275 mm Hg, during diastole — 235 mm Hg, which ensures effective delivery of blood to the myocardium in any mode of a healthy heart.

Theory of Heart Activity

Scientific Journal "Fundamental Research", No.9, 2008

The article presents a new theory of heart activity explaining the mechanism of blood filling of the heart cavities. A previously unknown phenomenon has been established — filling of the heart with blood due to negative pressure in the sealed pericardial cavity. The pericardial cavity is the 5th functional chamber of the heart. The scientific discovery is registered by the International Association of Authors of Scientific Discoveries and Inventions No. 230 dated 06.06.2001.

Heart — Five-Chamber System

Theory and Practice of Physical Culture

The article presents a fundamental discovery: the human heart functions as a 5-chamber system (right and left atria, right and left ventricles, pericardial cavity), providing three main functions — pumping, ejection and suction. The pericardial cavity is a functionally-diastolic structure that provides the suction function of cardiac activity. It is shown that effective heart function without the pericardial cavity is impossible.

U Wave of Electrocardiogram — "Own" Ventricular Diastole

Journal "Human Physiology", Vol.9, No.6, 1983

The article for the first time established the previously unknown significance of the U wave of the ECG, which corresponds to rapid blood filling of the ventricles. "Own" ventricular diastole is short, lasts throughout the U wave of the ECG and is active. The electromagnetic nature of the U wave arising from myocardial stretching is substantiated. Based on the analysis of the hemodynamic efficiency of cardiac contraction, the correspondence of ECG elements to the diastolic phase is determined.
